Grand Marshall Thomas J. Flaherty leads the revitalized Burlington July 4, 2007 Parade organized and sponsored by the Burlington Breakfast Rotary Club. District Governor Julia Phelps visits the Breakfast Club flanked by Asst. Governor Gerry McCarthy, Club Pres. John Tucci and Dist. Gov. elect Tom Elliot The Breakfast Club welcomes new members, Ray Graber, Henry Yee and Tony Ciampo. Presenting them is Club Pres. John Tucci and Kevin McKelvey. The Breakfast Rotary Team wins the prestigious Governor's Cup at the Portsmouth Country Club with an 8 under par! The Breakfast Rotary meets every Thursday at 7:30 am at Bickford's Restaurant, 6 Cambridge St., Burlington. Make new friends, network and enjoy rewarding community projects. Guests are always welcome. Karen Ross of the Carroll Center for the Blind and Breakfast Club member Charlie Songtachalert. Charlie was recently acknowledged for his donation of Braille versions of Club Member and activities coordinator Wes Hyman, Ed Bride, sponser from the Andover Rotary Club, Francesco Liberatori, Ambassadorial Scholar from Italy, and Club Pres. John Tucci. Dan Rea, host of New member Craig Robinson, Assistant Superintendent of the Burlington Schools, welcomed to the club by Dr. Richard Lewis and Kevin McKelvey.
Carissa Karakaedos, Director of Community Services at Shawsheen Vocational Technical High School, is congratulated as the newest club member by President John Tucci. Kevin Buckley & Dr. Lewis with guest speaker Kathy Lawless, who spoke about the Katie Spinos Family Trust to honor the deceased Burlington School Superintendent and help her children Peter and Joanna. Trust donations to Century Bank, 134 Cambridge St., Burlington Ma. 01803 Jim Major speaks on Rotary Foundation and the worthy causes supported by the Foundation funds and he is flanked by John Tucci and Dr. Lewis on a beautiful fall day. Kathy Lawless returns to accept a check for The Katie Spinos Family Trust from Rotarian Kevin Buckley Joe Kolb Certified Orientation and Mobility Specialist discussed the need for maintaining safe living areas for our elderly and those people experiencing the mobility changes with ongoing loss of sight.
John Chris Hicks, center, a certified professional trainer and golf professional, spoke about fitness and golf training.  As the Director of Instruction at Many thanks and holiday cheer to the great gals at Bickford's receiving their gifts: Julianese, Rose, Cheryl and Sheri.  Happy New Year to all!! Guest speaker, Burlington Selectman Gary Gianino,(pictured left, with club President John Tucci )spoke about the many projects ongoing for 2008 to improve the Town.  Mr. Gianino had many interesting annecdotes from his 15 years on the Board of Selectmen. Breakfast Rotary congratulates the State Champion Burlington HS Boys Gymnastics Team, with Captains Joe Gianino, Dave Hanafin, Casey Shields and Coach Rich Baczewski.

Attorney John Sterrett of Riemer & Braunstein is welcomed to the club as a new member by President Elect Kevin McKelvey.  John works out of the Burlington office specializing in land use and real estate litigation. District Governor Julia Phelps with Club Foundation Chair, Ray Graber and Club President John Tucci as they present a check for $200 towards the international efforts to eradicate polio world wide. Officer Joe Papsedero of the Burlington Police K-9 team with Club Service Director Doug Shaffer and President John Tucci after a facinating talk on the great works performed by Joe and his Police dog, Officer Joe Papsedero and his amazing Police dog Alex.  Both Officer Papsedero and Alex have been involved in numerous successful narcotics cases and most recently tracked and apprehended a felon after a robbery at Lester's Barbecue on 3A.
Coach Rich Baczewski, of Burlington HS Boys Gymnastics accepts the club check for $200 from Pres. Elect Kevin McKelvey to finalize the purchase of State Championship rings from the Balfour Company. Sharon Mastenbrook, Director of Public Health for the Town of Burlington, spoke about emergency preparation and practice to provide swift action and solutions in a flu pandemic situation. Lloyd B. Williams, founder of HelpMercy International, a non-profit organization dedicated to providing healthcare to all of Macha, Zambia. After purchasing an entire book of ten tickets for $200 and improving his odds of the total 162 tickets sold, Ray Graber's name is drawn and wins the 46 inch Sony television.  Congratulations to Ray and thank you to all who participated in this worthy charity contest. Ambassadorial Scholar Masaru Komura speaks to the group about his native Japan and the wonderful experience he is having at Harvard thanks to the generous support of Rotary.
