State Senator Robert Havern from the 4th Middlesex District addressed the club on August 24th and spoke about his concerns and ideas regarding the high cost of college tuition and health care as well as the Big Dig. The Burlington High School Choral group entertained the club with a variety of holiday songs. Holiday Party Former Heavyweight Boxing Champ James Det. Susan Hartmere, past president Rotary Club of Woburn, gives an impassioned talk on the plight of poor children from her trip to Guatemala. Dave Chase past President Winchester Rotary speaks about the Polio Plus program with the hope to eradicate polio throughout the world Thanks to Rotarian Charlie Songtachalet for hosting a great dinner and fun social event at his Lemon Tree Restaurant. Charlie Songtachelert (left) of the Lemon Tree Restaurant asks Kevin Buckley (right) to deliver the numerous boxes of Braille Harry Potter books that Charlie purchased to help children with sight impairments. A terrific group of students from Shawsheen Regional Vocational High School reflect on their leadership training and rewarding experience at RYLA (Rotary Youth Leadership Awards ) Dr.David Marini,Chiropractor of Burlington, demonstrates the Mark Traveis, of Burlington Vision Assoc. enjoys breakfast with our youngest guest of the year, his lovely daughter, Kendal.
